Competitive Strategy Simulation

Top 5 Pharma Company

The Challenge

Bringing a “Winning in a Competitive Environment” theme to life on day two of an annual marketing kickoff — through an experience that was genuinely engaging, strategically relevant, and behaviourally reinforcing.

A leading global pharmaceutical company needed more than a conference session. Their annual marketing kickoff required an immersive day two experience that would challenge teams to think strategically, collaborate under pressure, and practise the precise behaviours needed to succeed in a highly competitive market — all while maintaining the energy and engagement of a live event.

Our Solution

We designed and delivered a fully immersive business simulation built around the rescue of a fictitious toy company, Ye Olde Toys, from extinction. Professional actors played key company roles throughout, with strategically placed market insights guiding teams as they developed winning strategies, product positioning, and marketing plans in real time.

The day culminated in a high-stakes Dragons-style pitch, where teams presented their plans to secure vital funding — with winners determined by the right combination of strategy, skills, and behaviour.

Every element, from actor scripting to team briefing materials, was designed to drive genuine learning without sacrificing momentum or enjoyment.

WHAT WE DELIVERED

The Impact

The marketing team experienced a day that balanced competition with collaboration and learning with entertainment — developing strategic thinking in a risk-free environment while practising the exact behaviours needed to win in their market. The simulation translated a conference theme into a lived, memorable experience with direct application to day-to-day performance.
